Hari ni masuk OT (operation theatre). Ada operation 'pancreatoduodenectomy' atau pun dipanggil 'Whipple procedure' or 'Kausch-Whipple procedure'. It is considered as gold standard for pancreatic carcinoma.

The Whipple procedure (pancreatoduodenectomy) is the most common operation performed for pancreatic cancer and may be used to treat other cancers such as small bowel cancer. Surgeons remove the head of the pancreas, most of the duodenum (a part of the small intestine), a portion of the bile duct and sometimes a portion of the stomach. After the pancreatoduodenectomy, the surgeon reconstructs the digestive tract. (www.mayoclinic.org)

Rasanya ni kali pertama tengok operation ni. We are lucky.

Setelah hampir 4 jam, baru la mereka berjaya mengeluarkan pancreas+duodenum+stomach tu.

 surgeons tengah bertungkus lumus

student hanya memerhati. kadang-kadang tanya juga. 2 orang tu nampak tinggi sebab berdiri atas papan kayu, sebenarnya takdela tinggi sangat pun.
